New service a Wiki for your photos?
Posted by Andrew Nealon in Digital Photo Online Tools on 09 8th, 2008 |

Fotonauts.com isn’t much to look at right now. But, as soon as it launches, it might be one of the coolest photo services online.

With more and more photo sharing services coming online every month, fotonauts claims to be something different. The site will allow users to upload, share and manage the comments and commentary on their photos from one single service. People are calling it Wikipedia for your photos.

I’m not sure how it will work. If fotonauts will allow you to manage your photos in other services it might be a huge deal. If I don’t have to sign in and out of three different services every time I want to look at photos, I would see the advance as a huge advantage for fotonauts.

We’ll just have to wait and see what fotonauts has up its sleeves. But, not too long. It’s going live this week as part of the TechCrunch50 conference.

How many photo sharing sites do you have memberships to? Do you hate managing them all? Would you like another service to do it for you?
