GE joins mid-market camera club
Posted by Andrew Nealon in Digital Frames on 09 24th, 2008 |

Until last week, I had no idea GE was even in the camera business. But, you learn something new every day. Now, GE is expanding their line to include two new mid-range digital point-and-shoot cameras.

The A1030 and the E1055W are two new mid-range consumer cameras that pack a nice set of features if not amazing options.

The A1030 can record video (MP4) and shoots at 10 megapixels. The 4.5x digital zoom should be sufficient for most mid-range needs. It’s a middle of the road camera and just what you should expect form such a device.

Then, for the more image concious user, there is the slim E1055W. It’s a 10.1 megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom. You find here advanced features like image stabilization and a bigger 3″ lcd.

Both the cameras are comparable to hundreds of other cameras out there on the market. It’s to the point now that every company has a camera like these. They should shoot nice images but won’t get anyone excited or catch any camera faithfuls by surprise. Still, if you are fan of huge corporate products, check them out.
