I have a little more info on the new Fujifil 3D camera that made its debut at Photokina this last week. First, a better image of the camera itself:
Officially dubbed the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D System, the camera is a nice looking — if not a bit strange — piece of equipment. The double lenses are what provide the 3D effect. The camera will also be able to shoot normal 2D photos along with the new 3D type.
Still no pricing or availability information, but FujiFilm has said they hope to have it on the market by next year.
The company will also launch a photo printing service to allow the 3D camera users to order 3D prints of their photos. Of course, there is also a 3D photo frame in the works that will release with the camera. But the new information is that FujiFilm plans their own printing service.
If you want a better explanation of how the camera works and you also understand Japanese, head over to FujiFilm’s video presentation of the system. Also, the video is good if you like silly adverts.
