Canon fanboys and professionals alike can join the newly revamped Canon Professional Service starting in 2009.
The Service, which will offere three levels of support, is a good idea for those working with Canon gear. It offers tech support, as well as some groovy advanced options.
The Silver level of membership — the first of three — is free, and is basically just tech support. There will be some service discounts and repair benefits, as well.
For professionals, the gold level will cost $100 every year. For the price, gold members can access loan equipment and rest assured with a three-day turnaround on equipment in the shop.
Platinum members, who will shell out $500 per year, can look forward to priority equipment loans, 60% off repairs, two-day turnaround and longer-term loans if needed.
I’ve never been a member of the CPS, but it might be a nice idea. If youare a member now, you will need to resubscribe in 2009, as the new program is completly overtaking the curretn CPS. So, remember to check into it.
