The shift toward convergence has begun. And while many of the larger firms are still searching out solutions to a all-in-one device for the home, Digital Foci is releasing what they are branding as a “Digiframe.” Basically, the IMT-063 Image Moments 6 (simple name, yeah?), is a 5.7 inch display with a 640×480 resolution. Not an LCD, the screen relies on back lighting to function. The digiframe boasts 450Mb of internal storage with added support for memory cards and USB conectivity. Sounds like a digital frame, right?
Right. You even have video and mp3 playback. Pretty standard.
With all that internal memory, you can keep almost 3,000 smaller photos on the frame at all times.
Pretty much just a frame, but called a digiframe. The name hints at a few things, though. One of them being the interation between the user and the frame. Notice the nice operating system, which allows a user to organize, copy, delete and rename files and photos. Basically, the Image 6 comes with an orginizational feature. Pretty nice if you dont want to do all the photo work on the computer.
For digital frames, the next step needs to be convergance, meaning more options in one package. Does content management seem like a good direction to you?
