More on old lenses for new SLR cameras
Posted by Andrew Nealon in Digital Cameras, Digital Photo Gadgets on 10 15th, 2008 |

So, I’ve posted a few times on using older lenses with new digital SLR cameras, a feat thought to be impossible just a few years back. But now it seems everyone can do it, no problem.

There are many tutorials out there on the Web, but the newest offering from Potojojo really explains the process well. Making it easy for you to go out and convert your digital SLR into a home for old school lenses.

I’ve been over the benefits of using older lenses a few times, but really quickly:

  1. You save money - Older lenses are often a lot less expensive than new ones
  2. You have more fun - you get to play with a whole new world of lenses
  3. You learn a little - converting a camera is easy, but it does take a little learning and some skill
  4. You find new creativity - Older lenses come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, meaning you can play with any number of strange and wonderful combinations

Thanks for the info on the lenses and links, but I have questions just on the SLR camera itself. Do you think DSLR cameras are worth the price? I found this site http://www.dslrcamerareviews.com that gives some info on them. Just trying to decide whether to buy a DSLR or point and shoot. Thanks for any advise.
