SanDisk announced it is now shipping a new line of professional-grade memory cards, the Extreme IV CompactFlash line. The company said the cards run 12.5% faster and a 16GB card will allow professional photographers the ability to shoot thousands of hig-quality images.

A faster card means less time between shots and a faster upload-to-computer speed. That saves time and allows for better shots, especially when action is concerned.

The new cards will allow professionals that shoot in RAW format to use their continuous shooting modes, as the card won’t fill up as fast as other top-line cards.

The latest SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash card will cost around $350 here in the states. Pretty pricy, but sometimes you just need that much space and power.
