Photos in frames used to be very boring; they sat there on the side or on the wall for months, maybe even years before being replaced by another photograph. However, when digital photo frames came out onto the market, all that changed and all of sudden the family photos are popular again.
Nevertheless, buying a digital photo frame can be very difficult, as these days there are hundreds to choose from if the buyer decides to buy online, whereas if they visit a large electrical store, then the chances are there are going to be quite few which span all different sizes and price ranges.
Before buying a digital photo frame, the minimum requirements should be established, first of all the resolution should be looked at, there are several different types like 640 x 480 this should be the minimum, but you could go as high as 800 x 600 which is better, but more expensive. Basically, the higher the resolution the better the image is going to be.
Another key point is the aspect ratio, there are quite few to choose from, but basically there is only one that will do or possibly two depending on what you want. The best aspect ratio has to be 4:3 this is because this is exactly the same as a digital camera takes, so that means that the images is going to fit perfectly into the frame.
The other aspect ratio, which may come in handy, is 15:9 this is basically a widescreen effect, however unlike 4:3, which show the images in full with no gaps, the 15:9 aspect ratio will probably need to cut the top and bottom of the image in order for it to fit the screen.
