One thing about buying anything within the technology sector is the actual technology itself, many people are scared of this because on the one hand they do not wish to look stupid in front of people.
While on the other hand, the details of these technical innovations are written in such a way that a degree in physics is needed to understand them.
This is fair enough, but this actually puts some people off of buying an item like a digital photo frame, this is a shame because they are great items and can bring hours of fun for parents and grandparents.
Technically Jargon Explained:
Buyers should be acquainted to the technical jargon, before they set off to buy a digital photo frame, this can include:
What types of pictures files are supported - This will normally be JPG, but TIF and GiF are also supported in most cases.
Where will the photos be stored, from external memory cards or internal memory? If these are memory cards, they could be SD, MMC, MMC+, Memory Stick, and USB flash drive.
Does it have a built in memory and is it expandable - Usually the internal memory is going to be small, but normally enough to hold between fifty and a hundred photos.
If it supports music and/or videos, what file types are supported - This would normally be Mp3.
Is there a USB port, Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection - Sometimes this is a way of getting photos onto the computer, but it is easier to use a memory card at first.
What is the power source? Digital photo frames can be mains or battery powered.
You see it does not have to be some complicated, in fact once the user has been through the procedures once or twice it will become second nature.
