How many images can you store on a memory card?
Posted by David Allen in Digital Frames on 12 19th, 2008 |

Once you have decided to buy a digital photo frame, one thing that could possibly present a problem is memory. This is because some digital photo frames do not come with any internal memory and without it; you are not going to be able to use your digital photo frame.

The main question asked by buyers is how many images can be stored on a memory card, well it is not only photos that can be stored on them, and you will be able to store music, video or any combination of them. However, in answer to the question the handy table below explains all:

Capacity - Photos - Songs - Videos

256 MB - 226 - 149 - 79

512MB - 452 - 298 - 159

1 GB - 905 - 595 - 317

2 GB -  1808 - 1190 - 635

4 GB - 3619 - 2381 - 1270

8 GB - 7238 - 4762 - 2540

16 GB - 14,476 - 9524 - 5080

Of course, not all memory cards are going to store the same amount as there is always going to be a slight variance of values for each card, but it gives you the basic idea of what can be done.

Out of interest, the top two figures of 256 Mb and 512 Mb are the most commonly used as internal memory in a digital photo frame? In fact the GiiNii 7”, Wedge Digital Photo Frame comes with 512 Mb Memory.
